Jason Montoya
Boys Varsity Head Coach, Program Director, youth Director
Jason grew up in Seattle, playing lacrosse for Queen Anne and Garfield High School. He played Goalie throughout his career and was awarded HS All-American his senior year. Jason went on to play D1 Lacrosse at Lafayette College in Easton, PA. Since college Jason has coached youth and high school lacrosse for 9 years all across the country. Jason previously coached Eastlake in 2019 as an assistant, helping the Wolves win the 4A State Championship.
Lena Hanson
Girls Varsity Head Coach, Program Director, Youth Director
Lena's involvement in our local lacrosse community spans 2 decades. She began her lacrosse coaching career at the 7/8 level when Lake Samm Lacrosse Club was still the Eastside Eagles. She moved on to become the first Lake Samm high school coach and was instrumental in growing the high school program. After taking time off when she had her second daughter, Lena returned to Lake Samm for a few years before moving on to begin coaching her own daughters in their youth sports. Now that her girls are getting older, she is excited to be back coaching high school and helping develop the Eastlake Girls Lacrosse program! For Lena, coaching is about teaching life skills through sports, and she feels most accomplished when seeing the growth in her players' maturity as an individual and as a teammate.
In addition to coaching, Lena teaches part time in the Wellness Department at Eastlake High School. She has lived and taught in this community for 17 years with her husband (also an EHS teacher) and 2 daughters. When not coaching, teaching, or spending time with her family, Lena can be found trail running, playing soccer, reading, and hiking.
Tricia Vowles
Girls JV Head Coach
Tricia Vowles grew up in Bellevue and graduated from Gonzaga University in 2021. She began playing lacrosse in middle school, and continued in high school at Holy Names Academy. Tricia moved on to play for the Gonzaga Women’s Club team and served as Club President in her senior year. Her favorite lacrosse memories include a team trip to the Santa Barbara Shootout in 2020, and winning the Northwest Regional Championship on a buzzer-beater goal her sophomore year.
Tricia is thrilled to return to the sport and join the Eastlake Girls Lacrosse program this year! She looks forward to seeing players grow on and off the field, but most importantly to building team spirit and having fun together.
Aside from coaching lacrosse, Tricia works at a marketing firm in Issaquah. She loves to travel, try new recipes, and cheer on the Zags during basketball season.
Whitney Sieverts
Girls Varsity Assistant Coach
Whitney Sieverts is a transplant to the Greater Seattle Area after growing up playing lacrosse in Salt Lake City, UT. Whitney fell in love with the sport in the 7th grade and played all four years as a Jordan High Beetdigger (no joke, that is the mascot!). Whitney went on to play at the collegiate level at BYU where she led both as top scorer and as a captain for two years and was recognized as an All American in 2017. Whitney has been private coaching for the last 5 years and has been team coaching with Eastlake High School since 2021. Her passion for the game is backed by the belief of the powerful impact of sport and teamwork.
Megan Novak
Girls Assistant Coach
Megan (Coach Megz) played basketball for a majority of her youth and then went on to play lacrosse at Western Washington University. After dedicating a significant portion of her life to playing the sports she loved, she made the switch and found a passion in coaching. She has coached lacrosse, basketball and volleyball at both the youth and high school level. She has spent nearly a decade in the gym as a member of the Lady Wolves Basketball Family and is excited to also have the privilege to be part of the Eastlake Lacrosse community and help grow the girls program.
When not coaching or working in technology, Megz loves to spend time with her husband (aka Coach Novak), daughter, son and pitbull. If there's any time left over she can be found running, baking or watching a Disney movie.
