It is a great sport that is gaining popularity across the world! US Lacrosse has a beginners guide that will get you started and we highly recommend the PowLax videos which are great for both new comers and experienced players.
Any student who feeds into Eastlake High School may play for Eastlake Lacrosse. As of 2018/2019 school year, the following schools are feeders into Eastlake High School: Alcott Elementary, Blackwell, Elementary, Carson Elementary, Margaret Mead Elementary, McAuliffe Elementary, Smith Elementary, Evergreen Middle Schoo, and Inglewood Middle School. Lacrosse is a Spring sport. The season starts in late January and ends in mid-May. Registration opens in October and will stay open until the first practice in late January.
Eastlake Lacrosse provides other activities throughout the rest of the year, including an indoor program during the Fall and Strength Training during the Winter.
Boys and girls use different equipment for lacrosse. US Lacrosse has a great guide on equipment basics.
The most important piece of equipment is the lacrosse stick. Eastlake Lacrosse provides sticks to all new youth players. If you would like to purchase a stick, we highly recommend StringKing Complete sticks, which can be found on the StringKing website.
For boys, these are the required pieces of equipment:
- Lacrosse Stick
- Lacrosse Helmet
- Mouthguard
- Lacrosse Shoulder Pads
- Lacrosse Elbow Pads
- Lacrosse Gloves
- Athletic Cup
- Cleats (football or lacrosse cleats are recommended)
For girls, these are the required pieces of equipment:
- Lacrosse Stick
- Mouth Guard
- Lacrosse Goggles
- Cleats (soccer or lacrosse cleats)

Eastlake Lacrosse provides loaner gear for new youth players upon request. Please contact equipment@eastlakelacrosse.org if you are interested in checking out a set of gear.
Typically, the K-2 team will practice once a week on weekends and the rest of the youth teams will practice two times a week during the week and then have a Saturday game.
US Lacrosse provides insurance coverage which augments existing coverage provided by Eastlake Lacrosse. Also, being a US Lacrosse member provides many other benegits. See https://www.uslacrosse.org/memebership/memebership-faq for more information.
Yes! As of the 2021 season, Eastlake Lacrosse has both youth and high school girls teams.
