When does the lacrosse season start?

Lacrosse is a Spring sport. The season starts in late January and ends in mid-May. Registration opens in November and will stay open until the first practice in late January.

Eastlake Lacrosse provides other activities throughout the rest of the year, including an indoor program during the Fall and Strength Training during the Winter.

How often does the team practice?

Typically, the K-2 team will practice once a week on weekends and the rest of the youth will practice two times a week during the week and then have a Saturday game.

What is a US Lacrosse Membership and why do I need one to register?

US Lacrosse provides on insurance coverage which augments exiting coverage provided by Eastlake Lacrosse. Also, being a US Lacrosse member provides many other benefits. See https://www.uslacrosse.org/membership/membership-faq for more information.

Do I need to buy my own lacrosse gear to play?

Eastlake Lacrosse has limited sets of loaner gear for new players. Please contact equipment@eastlakelacrosse.org if you are interested in checking out a set of gear.

The most important piece of equipment is the lacrosse stick. We highly recommend StringKing Complete sticks which can be seen here, https://stringking.com/lacrosse/sticks/complete-2-int/. Note that at the K-2 level Eastlake Lacrosse will provide the sticks.

These are the other required pieces of equipment,

  • Lacrosse Helmet
  • Lacrosse Shoulder Pads
  • Lacrosse Elbow Pads
  • Lacrosse Gloves
  • Athletic Cup
  • Cleats (Football cleats are recommended)

If you aren't sure what to get and want advice our coaches are always happy to give recommendations. Send mail to coaches@eastlakelacrosse.org and we'll let you know.
